As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will design and deploy test systems and software for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of component, sub-assembly, and vehicle level testing. You will design LabVIEW data acquisition and control systems based on NI CompactRIO, CompactDAQ, PXI, and other hardware that will test fluid, mechanical, and electrical development and flight systems of our engines and launch vehicles. Our team provides support for business units and programs across Blue Origin for critical development, qualification, and acceptance testing.
In this role, your primary responsibilities will be to build upon our common software architecture, writing new libraries and optimizing code within our team. You will participate in code reviews, craft additions to our frameworks, develop user interfaces, and build tools to aid in software development and deployment. You will create user specific software configurations, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain those systems. In addition to software development, you will participate and lead in the lifecycle of new projects including requirements, design, build, commissioning, and verification of test systems. You will provide customer service, training, and documentation for our customers.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in LabVIEW with knowledge of object-oriented design, test automation, and software component development

2+ years of experience with NI Real-Time systems and software development (LinuxRT & Phar-Lap)

Direct experience using NI hardware

B.S. degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering. Other engineering or science degrees or work history will be considered if experience in above responsibilities is met

Ability to travel up to 25%

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired:

Experience with Actor Framework, unit testing, validation, code reuse, advanced architectures, hardware and software abstraction layers

National Instruments certification in LabVIEW development: CLD, CLA, CLED, or Professional Instructor

NI TestStand sequence development, user interfaces, process model customization, and LabVIEW API

Experience with LabVIEW Real-Time, FPGA, and application deployment

Experience working with electrical control systems and industrial sensors and actuators: pressure, temperature, LVDT, bridge, accelerometers, and motion/servo controller Project management experience, delivering results on-time and on-budget

Experience working in a test environment
