As lead LabVIEW Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of the LabVIEW software application within the packaging industry based out at our R&D site in Wantage.

This is an exciting, high-impact role with the opportunity to make the role your own and influence the direction of process improvement.

Working within a talented team of professionals you will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop innovative process monitoring solutions
  • Deliver quality LabVIEW software applications as part of process control and monitoring solutions with an emphasis on maintainable, scalable and flexible solutions
  • Convert broad top-level requirements into well planned and architected software applications for a variety of application areas with scalability as a focus
  • Produce software user manuals
  • Support deployed software solutions to fix bugs and add new features
  • Communicate with various stakeholders and internal and external customers to understand and define requirement
  • Complete projects within defined time frames

Job Requirements

In order to succeed in this role you will be educated to degree level in either Software, Electronics, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.


  • Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) – with demonstrable relevant experience
  • LabVIEW Real-time and FPGA experience
  • Experience architecting, writing, building and debugging large modular LabVIEW software applications
  • Understanding of data acquisition and signal processing techniques
  • Development of communication protocols such as TCP, UDP and other industry standards
  • Development of API’s for instrument control, including serial and Modbus
  • Experience interfacing with various sensors and control solutions
  • Methodical troubleshooting and debugging skills


  • Certified LabVIEW Architect
  • LabVIEW Graphical Object-oriented Programming principals
  • LabVIEW Actor Framework
  • Understanding of electronics and test equipment
  • Data Analysis techniques
  • Thorough understanding of factors influencing software performance
  • LabVIEW Vision Development module experience
  • Development using SQLite

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. It is important that you can demonstrate the ability to successfully manage your time in order to meet multiple deadlines in parallel.
