EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) — First Deadline September 2026
If you sell LabVIEW-based software and systems in the EU, please be aware that new CRA regulations may require you to implement security vulnerability reporting starting September 11, 2026. The VIPM Team has prepared guides to help you understand how this applies to your software applications and published packages, since it's important you understand these regulatory requirements (click the Learn More link to read these guides). Thank you for your help in keeping security front-and-center within the LabVIEW community.

I would like VIPM to include an option to mark old and un-maintained tools as archived. In this case, VIPM Desktop would not display these packages by default unless the user enables the option “Show Archived Tools.”

Currently, VIPM contains many tools that are no longer maintained or supported; some don’t even work. Their presence in the main list only makes it harder to discover valuable, up-to-date packages. Users should have clear information indicating that a specific package is outdated or likely incompatible, so they don’t waste their time.

Why archive instead of delete?
Completely removing tools might not be the best idea because you never know if someone still relies on an older version for their project. Archiving with clear labeling gives users the choice — they can see that a tool is likely outdated but still install it if needed.

In summary, introducing an Archive feature in VIPM would help:
1. Keep the main list of available tools organized.
2. Make it easier to discover and install currently supported packages.
3. Allow access to archived tools without permanently removing them.
