If you have a strict typdef on your front panel, it fails with error 1082 "LabVIEW: Operation not valid for strict type definition instance." For some reason I couldn't comment or reply to the location on NI https://forums.ni.com/t5/Reference-Design-Content/Front-Panel-Layout-Tool/ta-p/3497370
